I have a Master of Arts in Teaching Spanish from the University of Southern Mississippi which I earned in their study abroad program in Morelia, Mexico. I lived with a host family and was able to take excursions on the weekends to amazing places. It was a wonderful three year learning opportunity!
I am originally from Southwest Washington and have taught at Centralia College since 1990. I also teach in our English as a Second Language program and enjoy helping students reach their goals. I have worked with local Latino families as an interpreter and document translator.
I learned Spanish later in life and began right here in a class at Centralia College! It is a rewarding language, rich in diversity and culture. There are many opportunities to use it in our local community, too. From day one I encourage my students to start communicating in español. We have a lot of fun in class and I look forward to meeting you! Please contact me if you would like more information.
